This year marks 60 years since The Doors were formed. The band Morrison would like to celebrate this magical moment together with fans of The Doors’ music.

We celebrate the year by releasing “Break on Through”, a live recording from 2024, of a very special evening at Metronomen, Copenhagen, where everything just worked out,
and the music played itself, freely and unforced. Where the spirit and experimental freedom were present. Judge for yourself. The band Morrison is one of Denmark’s very few interpreters
of The Doors’ magical universe. With lead singer and guitarist Christian Olesen at the helm, and three experienced musicians behind them, we deliver a slightly harder, more guitar-based interpretation of The Lizard King’s enchanting music.

Christian Olesen’s voice and charisma are disturbingly close to the original voice of The Doors, and the interplay and experimentation are the main elements of the journey through The Doors’ strong repertoire. Even though The Doors’ music is wild and daring, rough and unpredictable, it’s amazing how many generations have embraced the music and taken it in.
Many young people cite The Doors as one of their greatest favorite bands. The music lives forever.

Christian Olesen : Vocals & Guitar

Georg Davidsen : Guitar/keys

Thomas Clausen : Bass/backing vocals

Jeppe Basbøl : Drum

We call our 2026 show series: “Light My Fire”.

“Listen, real poetry doesn’t say anything, it just ticks off possibilities.
Opens all doors. You can walk through any one that suits you”
“If my poetry aims to achieve anything, it’s to deliver people from the limited ways in
which they see and feel.” (Jim Morrison: Self-Interview)

The essence of what a music critic in 1965 in Disc Review calls “Morrison therapy”: to become more real, to become a better person,
to cut the connection to the established society’s past, to swim in the sea of your feelings, to suffer a symbolic death and rebirth, – to be rebornas a new man,
psychologically cleansed.”Jim Morrison’s poetry will tease and entice the listener with a rich, sharp, beautiful or terrifying burst of imagery.
Arouse your curiosity. Smash the facade that prevents your senses from coming in and getting your feelings out.

Like his great role model, Arthur Rimbaud, Jim Morrison tries to reflect the subconscious law of change and free association.
Jim’s verses emerge as reflections and responses to the law of the subconscious. Like dreams, filled with bizarre and dark imagery.
One way is imagery filled with the threat of violence and pain , another way is eroticism , building sexual tension,
or using the acid trip path into the unconscious, describing the soul’s unconscious anxiety and fear, death.

Put the listener of the Doors’ music in this excited state/’arousal’ – and then enable him/her to try to complete the insight of this state for himself/herself. You hear a call to break your frames – it frees you in some way – but you must then do the work yourself to become a different, freer person.

It may seem like a negative picture of the human world as it is. But behind the facade that needs to be blown away, there are some fundamental forces that need to be released.

It’s MORRISON THERAPY….Ignite my inner fire!
